This individual will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering plans for optimizing broadband coverage, project prioritization, and facilitating their completion through local engineering and operations resources. This individual will be responsible for site survey and appropriate documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

• 5 years of Telecommunications Engineering/Operations Experience working in the ILEC, CLEC, or IXC industry
• 2 of the 5 years must be Transmission Engineering
• Using the experience with transmission and inside plant, must be able to meet specific responsibilities including working in the following area:
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, TDM and able to design circuits within the these state of art systems
  • Working knowledge of DSLAM equipment
  • Working knowledge of transport systems as relating to Central Offices
  • Working knowledge of Switching and Power Systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with all levels of engineering and management staff
• Able to prioritize work to meet the demands of Company commitments
• Must be flexible and able to set aside planned work to meet unexpected demands of management and the company
• Exceptional communication skills required – both verbal and written
• Must have good writing skills required to complete the narratives to the design plans
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Network design and implementation
• Position requires occasional travel - Valid drivers license required

Education
